Regenerative Therapies: Neuroprolo, Prolotherapy

Regenerative medicine is a cutting-edge interdisciplinary field that focuses on harnessing the body's inherent ability to repair, replace, and regenerate damaged or diseased tissues and organs. It integrates principles from biology, medicine, and engineering to develop innovative therapeutic approaches that go beyond traditional treatments. One key aspect of regenerative medicine involves the use of stem cells, which possess the remarkable ability to differentiate into various cell types and promote tissue regeneration. Additionally, advanced biomaterials, growth factors, and tissue engineering techniques play pivotal roles in creating supportive environments for cellular growth and tissue reconstruction. The ultimate goal of regenerative medicine is to revolutionize healthcare by providing personalized and effective treatments for conditions ranging from degenerative diseases to traumatic injuries, offering the potential to restore normal tissue function and improve patients' quality of life.

Neuroprolotherapy

These injections are a safe and effective way to treat nerve pain. The treatment consists of injections at different levels of tissue using a solution of dextrose in the peripheral nerve distribution. Subcutaneous injections go under the skin into a layer which is looser, often composed of some fat. The dextrose affects the nerves by decreasing inflammation and giving nutrition and hydration to the nerve.

This allows normal flow of Nerve Growth Factor and subsequent nerve repair and decreased pain. Repetitive treatments are often needed, but every treatment has the potential to cause a permanent shift in the nervous system free from harmful side effects of medications such as steroids.  Neural prolotherapy is an injection to promote regeneration and repair in subcutaneous nerves.

Prolotherapy Injections

Prolotherapy is a treatment that is uses for sprains, strains and partial tears of ligaments. It works by injecting a solution of a specific concentration of dextrose, numbing medicine and vitamin into the area being treated.  This solution works with your body’s natural reparative processes by causing an inflammatory reaction.  The injection mimics cell damage and signals “tissue builder cells” that in inflammatory reactions cause the body to lay down collagen and strengthen the area that was sprained, strained or partial torn.
